The journey
A life between two shores
I was born in Tripoli to Moroccan parents, with two countries in my heart. War passed through me, Morocco welcomed me, and Marrakech gave me back the taste for life. My painting is the thread that ties it all together.
I saw a city fall silent. Since then, I paint whatever in us refuses to go dark.

Tripoli, childhood
I was born in Tripoli, Libya, to Moroccan parents. I grew up between two cultures: the light of the Mediterranean on one side, my parents' homeland on the other, present in every family story, every recipe, every song.

The upheaval
I was ten years old when the Gaddafi regime fell. I watched scenes of war tear through my city. From that time I keep a sharp sense of what truly matters, and the need to put colour on what words cannot say.

Return to Morocco
I returned to my parents' homeland, which I knew only through their words. Morocco became my land of peace and the place of my artistic rebirth.

Today
Marrakech
Settled in Marrakech, I have learned to savour life. My paintings and drawings now translate my thoughts, and those of the people who entrust theirs to me.
